Fiber internet has become an important home broadband option for households looking for high-speed connectivity for streaming, video calls, remote work, gaming, smart-home devices, and everyday internet use.

For Costco members researching Costco Fiber Internet Availability, the most important distinction is that Costco is not operating its own fiber-optic internet network. Instead, Costco currently promotes AT&T Fiber internet service through a member-facing AT&T offer.

Current Costco information shows AT&T Fiber options including 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and 1 Gig service, with advertised prices starting around $50, $65 and $80 per month, respectively. Costco is also currently advertising a limited-time Shop Card promotion for qualifying AT&T Fiber purchases.

Because fiber infrastructure does not reach every property, the first step is determining whether AT&T Fiber—or another fiber internet provider—is actually available at the service address.

Costco Fiber Internet Plans and Prices

The current Costco AT&T Fiber offer highlights three primary speed levels:

Fiber Internet Plan	Current Costco-Listed Price	Download Speed
AT&T Fiber Internet 300	$50/month	300 Mbps
AT&T Fiber Internet 500	$65/month	500 Mbps
AT&T Fiber Internet 1000	$80/month	1,000 Mbps

These prices reflect the current Costco-listed AT&T Fiber offer and should not be treated as permanent pricing for every address.

Availability is limited in some areas, and terms, discounts and promotions can change.

For households comparing fiber internet prices, it is useful to look beyond the advertised monthly rate and examine speed, equipment, installation, promotional requirements and total monthly cost.

AT&T Fiber Internet 300 Through Costco

The entry-level fiber option currently highlighted by Costco is:

AT&T Fiber Internet 300 — $50/Month

The Costco offer lists a download speed of 300 Mbps.

A connection in this speed category can potentially support a wide range of household activities, including:

HD and 4K streaming
Video calls
Remote work
Online gaming
Large file downloads
Smartphones and tablets
Smart-home devices
Multiple connected televisions

For a smaller or moderately connected household, 300 Mbps may provide enough capacity without paying for a gigabit plan.

The actual plan available should still be verified for the service address.

AT&T Fiber Internet 500 Through Costco

The next Costco-listed option is:

AT&T Fiber Internet 500 — $65/Month

This tier provides advertised download speeds of 500 Mbps.

The price difference between the Costco-listed 300 Mbps and 500 Mbps plans is currently approximately:

$15 per month

$180 over 12 months

before taxes, fees or changes to the offer.

A 500 Mbps connection may be worth considering for households with several simultaneous users or devices.

For example, a household could be running multiple TVs, computers, smartphones, security cameras and smart-home devices at the same time.

Costco describes the 500 Mbps option as suitable for multiple users streaming and sharing large files.

AT&T Fiber Internet 1000 Through Costco

For households looking for gigabit internet, Costco currently highlights:

AT&T Fiber Internet 1000 — $80/Month

This plan provides advertised download speeds of 1,000 Mbps, commonly referred to as 1 Gig internet.

The Costco-listed difference between Internet 500 and Internet 1000 is currently:

$15 per month

The difference between Internet 300 and Internet 1000 is:

$30 per month

That means the starting service-price difference between the 300 Mbps and 1 Gig tiers would be approximately $360 over 12 months if those monthly prices remained unchanged for the full period.

For households with extensive connectivity requirements, 1 Gig service may be attractive. Lighter internet users may want to determine whether they would actually benefit from the additional bandwidth.

Costco AT&T Fiber Member Offer

Costco's current AT&T internet page is advertising an additional member promotion:

Up to $150 in Costco Shop Cards

The current offer applies with the purchase of qualifying AT&T Fiber 1 Gig or higher service, subject to its eligibility requirements and restrictions.

Costco currently lists the promotion as ending September 30, 2026.

This is a limited-time promotion rather than a permanent feature of Costco membership.

Consumers should therefore verify:

Eligible internet plan
Required activation
Shop Card amount
Redemption requirements
New-customer requirements
Service availability
Offer expiration
Other restrictions

before calculating the promotion as part of the value of an internet plan.

Does Costco Provide Its Own Fiber Internet?

No. The fiber internet service promoted through Costco is provided by AT&T, not by a Costco-owned broadband network.

This distinction matters when evaluating:

Network availability
Installation
Customer service
Billing
Internet speeds
Equipment
Service interruptions
Plan changes

Costco provides access to the member offer, while AT&T provides the underlying fiber internet service.

Therefore, Costco Fiber Internet Availability effectively depends on whether the participating fiber provider can service the household's address.

How to Check Fiber Internet Availability

Fiber availability is highly location-dependent because fiber-optic infrastructure must physically reach the service area.

A neighborhood having fiber service does not necessarily mean every property in the surrounding area can order the same plan.

Availability can differ between:

Cities
Suburbs
Rural communities
Neighborhoods
Apartment buildings
Individual streets
Individual addresses

AT&T describes its Fiber service as having limited availability in select areas.

Consumers should therefore check the exact service address before comparing pricing in detail.

Why Fiber Availability Can Differ by Address

Unlike satellite internet or some fixed-wireless services, fiber internet depends on physical infrastructure.

The provider must deploy fiber through the relevant community and have appropriate network capacity and connection infrastructure serving the property.

This means two households relatively close to one another can sometimes receive different availability results.

Apartment and condominium residents may face additional considerations because service can depend on the building's internal wiring and agreements.

For this reason, an advertised nationwide fiber plan should never be interpreted as confirmation that the service is available at every address.

How Much Does Costco-Listed Fiber Internet Cost Per Year?

Using the current Costco-listed monthly prices provides a simple illustration:

Plan	Monthly Price	12-Month Service Illustration
AT&T Fiber 300	$50	$600
AT&T Fiber 500	$65	$780
AT&T Fiber 1000	$80	$960

These figures simply multiply the current advertised monthly price by 12.

They do not represent a guaranteed annual quote and do not include possible taxes, fees, optional services or future pricing changes.

The calculation nevertheless illustrates why speed selection matters.

Moving from the 300 Mbps tier to 1 Gig represents approximately $360 more over 12 months based on the current Costco-listed prices.

A household should determine whether it needs the additional speed before automatically choosing the highest tier.

What Is Fiber-Optic Internet?

Fiber internet transmits information through fiber-optic cables rather than the copper-based infrastructure commonly associated with traditional cable and DSL services.

AT&T currently offers Fiber plans ranging from Internet 300 through multi-gigabit services such as 2 Gig and 5 Gig in eligible locations.

Fiber can be particularly attractive for households that require substantial bandwidth.

Potential uses include:

4K streaming
Video conferencing
Cloud backups
Large downloads
Online gaming
Home offices
Security systems
Smart-home devices
Multiple simultaneous users

The fastest available plan is not automatically necessary for every household.

300 Mbps vs 500 Mbps vs 1 Gig Internet

Choosing between fiber plans becomes easier when internet usage is considered.

300 Mbps

May be sufficient for many smaller and moderately connected households using streaming, video calling, browsing and everyday internet services.

500 Mbps

Provides additional capacity for households with multiple simultaneous users and heavier downloading or streaming requirements.

1 Gig

Can be more relevant for highly connected households, frequent large transfers, multiple simultaneous high-bandwidth activities or users specifically seeking gigabit connectivity.

A household should therefore compare speed requirements against monthly cost, rather than simply choosing the largest advertised number.

Fiber Internet Equipment

Internet equipment is another area consumers should investigate before subscribing.

AT&T currently advertises its Fiber service as having no equipment fees on its standard internet offer.

Households may still choose additional networking equipment depending on the size and layout of the property.

For example, larger homes may benefit from:

Wi-Fi extenders
Mesh Wi-Fi systems
Ethernet connections
Additional networking equipment

Costco itself sells routers and mesh Wi-Fi equipment designed to handle high-speed fiber connections, including Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 products.

These retail networking products are separate from the internet service itself.

Fiber Internet Installation

A new fiber connection may require professional installation depending on the property and existing infrastructure.

The installation process can involve connecting the property to the provider's fiber network and configuring the required internet equipment.

Before subscribing, consumers should check:

Whether professional installation is required
Whether installation has a charge
Appointment availability
Where equipment will be installed
Whether existing wiring can be used
Whether additional networking equipment is needed

Installation policies and promotions can change, so the exact terms should be checked during ordering.

Does AT&T Fiber Have Data Caps?

AT&T currently advertises its Fiber internet with no data caps.

This can be relevant for households with substantial monthly internet usage.

Activities that can consume significant amounts of data include:

4K video streaming
Large software downloads
Cloud backups
Gaming downloads
Security-camera uploads
Multiple simultaneous streams

Even with unlimited data, households should still select a speed appropriate for their actual requirements.

Does AT&T Fiber Require an Annual Contract?

AT&T's current Fiber offer advertises no annual contract.

That can simplify comparisons with providers offering promotional pricing tied to longer commitments.

Consumers should still review the complete terms of the specific service they are ordering, including cancellation, equipment-return and promotional conditions.

Costco Fiber Internet vs T-Mobile 5G Home Internet

Costco currently promotes another major home-internet option in addition to AT&T Fiber:

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet.

This is important because T-Mobile Home Internet is not fiber internet.

Instead, it uses T-Mobile's cellular 5G network to provide a fixed-wireless home internet connection.

Costco is currently advertising a member-exclusive T-Mobile Home Internet promotion worth up to $325 back, subject to eligibility and availability.

That gives Costco members two distinctly different internet technologies to consider:

Feature	AT&T Fiber Through Costco	T-Mobile Home Internet Through Costco
Technology	Fiber optic	5G fixed wireless
Physical fiber connection	Yes	No
Address availability required	Yes	Yes
Speed	Plan-specific	Network/signal dependent
Costco promotion	May be available	May be available
Installation	Fiber installation may be needed	Wireless gateway
Performance	Fiber-network dependent	Cellular-network dependent

Where both services are available, households can compare total monthly cost, expected speeds, installation and current Costco member incentives.

Costco Fiber Internet vs Cable Internet

Cable broadband is another common alternative.

Cable providers can offer speeds ranging from basic broadband to gigabit service depending on location.

When comparing fiber and cable, consider:

Monthly price
Download speed
Upload speed
Promotional period
Equipment fees
Installation
Data policies
Contract terms
Price after promotion
Current incentives

Fiber can be especially attractive for households that value high-capacity connectivity, but cable may have broader availability in some communities.

The better option depends on what is actually offered at the property.

Costco Fiber Internet vs Satellite Internet

Satellite services such as Starlink use a completely different network architecture.

Satellite internet can be particularly relevant in rural or remote areas where fiber infrastructure has not been deployed.

Fiber generally requires physical network infrastructure reaching the property, whereas satellite internet communicates with orbiting satellites through equipment installed at the customer's location.

When comparing the two, review:

Availability
Monthly price
Equipment cost
Installation
Download speed
Upload speed
Latency
Data policies
Reliability
Total first-year cost

For a property with strong fiber availability, fiber deserves serious consideration. For properties without wired broadband infrastructure, satellite internet may provide an alternative.

Comparing Internet Providers

Costco membership does not mean consumers should skip comparison shopping.

A household can compare the Costco AT&T Fiber offer against other available providers serving its area.

Important comparison categories include:

Factor	What to Compare
Monthly price	Regular and promotional rates
Speed	Download and upload
Equipment	Included or additional charge
Installation	Included or additional cost
Data	Unlimited or capped
Contract	Commitment requirements
Promotion	Gift cards, credits or other incentives
Price changes	What happens after introductory periods
Availability	Exact service address
Total cost	First-year and longer-term expense

The lowest advertised monthly price is not necessarily the lowest overall cost.

Questions to Ask Before Ordering Fiber Internet

Before selecting an internet plan, consumers can check:

Is fiber available at my exact address?
Which fiber speeds are available?
What is the regular monthly price?
Is the advertised rate promotional?
What happens after the promotional period?
Is equipment included?
Is installation included?
Are there data caps?
Is there an annual contract?
Are taxes or additional fees charged?
Does the plan qualify for a Costco Shop Card?
What are the promotion's eligibility requirements?
How long does the promotion last?
Is 300 Mbps enough for my household?
Would 500 Mbps provide meaningful additional value?
Do I actually need gigabit internet?
Are competing fiber providers available?
Is cable or 5G home internet less expensive?
What will the first 12 months cost?
What will the service cost after current promotions end?

Conclusion

For shoppers researching Costco Fiber Internet Availability in 2026, the current Costco-linked fiber option is primarily AT&T Fiber.

Costco currently highlights:

AT&T Fiber 300 — $50/month

AT&T Fiber 500 — $65/month

AT&T Fiber 1000 — $80/month

Costco is also advertising a limited-time promotion of up to $150 in Costco Shop Cards with qualifying AT&T Fiber 1 Gig or higher service, currently listed through September 30, 2026.

The most important step, however, is checking availability. Fiber requires physical network infrastructure, so service can differ from one address to another.

Consumers should compare the monthly internet price, available speed, equipment, installation, promotional incentives and total first-year cost with other fiber, cable, 5G home internet and satellite options available to the household.

That approach provides a much clearer picture of value than choosing an internet service based only on its maximum advertised speed.
