Key BFGoodrich Truck Tire Models to Look For

1. All-Terrain T/A KO2 (Predecessor Clearance)

With the launch and rollout of the newer All-Terrain T/A KO3, previous-generation KO2 models are frequently heavily discounted.

Best For: On-road/off-road light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs.
Why Buy on Clearance: The KO2 remains an industry benchmark for off-road traction, tough sidewall construction (CoreGard Technology), and 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) winter rating.
Target Savings: Often marked down by $150 to $250+ per set of 4, or eligible for manufacturer instant rebates.

2. Trail-Terrain T/A & T/A+

Best For: CUVs, light-duty pickups (F-150, Tacoma, Silverado), and daily drivers who need light off-road capability without aggressive tread noise.
Features: Engineered for gravel resistance, optimized highway tread life, and all-weather traction.

3. Mud-Terrain T/A KM3

Best For: Serious off-roaders, rock crawlers, and mud-terrain setups.
Features: Extreme sidewall protection (Traction Armor Sidewall Sculpture) and Krawl-Tech rubber compound designed to grip slick rock and loose soil.

4. Commercial T/A All-Season / HD-Terrain T/A KT

Best For: Fleet trucks, heavy-duty work trucks (2500/3500 series), and commercial haulers.
Features: Engineered for high-load capacity, cut-and-chip resistance on gravel roads, and extended tread life under heavy towing.

Strategic Tips for Shopping Kal Tire Clearouts

Check the DOT Production Date: Tires sitting on clearance shelves may have been manufactured 1 to 3 years prior. Check the 4-digit DOT stamp on the sidewall (e.g., \"1224\" means the 12th week of 2024). Rubber is generally considered factory-fresh up to 5–6 years from its production date.
Combine Clearance with Mail-In Rebates: Kal Tire frequently offers seasonal brand rebates (e.g., $70–$100 back on a set of 4 BFGoodrich tires). Check if clearance SKUs qualify for manufacturer or store-level instant savings.
In-Store Clearance vs. Online Inventory: Tire clearance stock varies by store location. Call your local Kal Tire location or use the online filter for \"In Stock Near Me\" to find localized closeout stock.
Factor in Mounting, Balancing, and Kal's Customer Care Plan: Kal Tire includes added value with installation, such as free lifetime tire rotations, free flat repairs, and winter-summer tire swaps if mounted on rims.

Buyer Inspection Checklist

[ ] Verify Ply Rating / Load Range: Ensure the clearance tire meets your truck’s specific load requirement (e.g., Load Range E for 3/4-ton trucks).
[ ] Confirm 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) Symbol: If driving in winter regions, verify the specific size carries the alpine winter rating.
[ ] Check Wheel Fitment: Verify tread width, aspect ratio, and rim diameter match your truck’s OEM specs or aftermarket lift setup.
[ ] Inquire About Warranty Coverage: Ensure clearance tires still include BFGoodrich's standard treadwear warranty and Kal Tire's workmanship guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are clearance tires from Kal Tire covered under warranty?

Yes. Unless explicitly marked as used or blemished (which is rare for major tire retailers), new clearance tires carry standard manufacturer limited warranties for workmanship and materials.

Why are certain BFGoodrich sizes marked down lower than others?

Discount levels depend on inventory levels. Less common OEM sizes or outgoing tire models (like the KO2 being phased into the KO3) receive larger price cuts to clear warehouse space.

Can I order clearance tires online for store installation?

Yes, you can reserve or purchase clearance inventory on the Kal Tire website and schedule an installation appointment at your nearest location.

Steps to Take Action

Search Online Inventory: Visit kaltire.com and navigate to the Deals / Clearance section, filtering by your truck's tire size (e.g., 275/70R17 or 265/60R18).
Contact Local Store Service Desks: Ask the service manager if they have non-listed \"older stock\" or overstock clearance sets of BFGoodrich tires in their backroom.
Book Installation: Schedule your mounting and balancing appointment to lock in clearance pricing before stock sells out.

Conclusion

Tire clearance events at Kal Tire offer substantial savings for truck owners who need premium off-road, highway, or commercial tires without paying full retail pricing. By checking tire DOT date codes, matching load ratings to your truck's specifications, and stacking store promotions with manufacturer rebates, you can secure high-grade BFGoodrich tires at a fraction of their original cost.
